The Sealed Knot brings history to life by staging events throughout the country all year round, offering a chance to experience at first hand the horrors of a nation at war with itself, as well as providing a glimpse of everyday life in those days.

The Sealed Knot is the oldest re-enactment society in the UK, a registered educational charity and the single biggest re-enactment society in Europe. The charity specialises in Civil War battles/events and performs at sites throughout the country. It brings to life the horrors of civil war including major battles, skirmishes and sieges.
As well as weapons, artefacts, etc, the society also demonstrates the cookery, clothing, education and politics of the period – a complete historical analysis. The photo herewith shows the dress of the horsemen.
