We have received the sad news that Bob Powell, of the class of 1956, died on 27th March.

We regret that we must announce the death of Bob Powell, on Thursday 27th March.
The funeral will be held on Friday 25th April in three parts:
- at 11 am at St James's Church, Hartlebury for the service;
- afterwards, until 4 pm, at Stourport Civic Centre for the reception; and
- at 4:30 pm at Wyre Forest Crematorium for the committal.

'Very sad news today of the death of Bob Powell. At the school in 1950s, rugby was his game. After leaving school one of his main pastimes was local musical societies – Monday Night Group, Kidderminster Operatic & Dramatic Society, and Carpet Trades Musical Theatre Company (where he was chairman for 30 years) – both on stage and back stage. His set building skills were legendary – knocking screws into wood with a hammer! He will be greatly missed by local thespians. His efforts to keep Banks's solvent were also very well known. Bob we'll miss you.'
