Governors since the Association became an appointing body.
While several of the Association's present and past members have sat on the School's governing body, it was only in 2002 that the Association became an appointing body, having taken over from the University of Birmingham (not that anyone seems to know how this higher education institution originally became involved). The appointee currently sits on the Local Academy Board, which used to be known as the Local Governing Body, and is considered a 'foundation governor', alongside the appointees of the King Charles the First's School Foundation and the Roy Woodward Education Foundation. The appointees do not have to sit on those bodies to be nominated by them.
