The annual Spring Event, this year a skittles' night, took place on Saturday 29th March from 6:30 pm for 7 pm at The Talbot Inn, Hartlebury, hosted by President Pete Guy.

2003 Spring Event (skittles)

It was a small, but select band of Old Carolians and friends who met for the President's Spring Event, this year a skittles' evening.

Martin Hobson was one of the first off the mark, watched by Treasurer Peter Picken, who acted as scorer, and President Peter Guy.  The competition was keen, but light-hearted and the final scores ranged from pretty high to...well, no one actually made a negative score, but one or two of those present looked as though they were trying hard to do so!

At the end of the evening, the President awarded a number of prizes; the one for the highest score by a lady player went to his daughter, Lucy.  Just in case some are tempted to shout 'fix', it has be said that Lucy scattered the skittles pretty convincingly and ended up with a final score higher than that managed by many of the men!

A substantial cooked supper was included – a choice of four dishes, ranging from faggots and peas to broccoli and cream cheese bake, all served with chips and salad – and the proceeds from a raffle ensured that Association had £60 to add to its coffers.

A highly enjoyable evening!
