2006 Summer Barbeque hosted by President David Slater
A number somewhat in excess of 50 members and friends gathered at the Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club in the evening of 17th June for the Summer BBQ, hosted by Association President David Slater.
The weather was probably the best it has ever been for this event. Well, it could hardly be otherwise this year, could it?
There were some that regular attend who didn't make it this year, submitting such feeble excuses as family weddings and the like. Not good enough! But those attending consisted of a mixture of the usual suspects and some perhaps less familiar faces. Here Martin Hobson and Ray Blount are instantly recognisable.
And here Vice-President Keith Bowkett and Past President Tony Kidd fill the foreground with another past President Martin Easton lurking behind Tony Kidd.
Peter Vaughan and Colin Lloyd, both lined up as future Presidents of the Association, and Colin's wife and daughter. Peter's wife was unable to attend on this occasion ...
... and Association members Martyn Griffiths, Ron Broadfield, Mike Aston (all the way from Australia!) and Bob Watkins, accompanied by appropriate spouses.
But where is the current President during all this merrymaking? Here, of course, with Ray Blount and master chef Peter Picken finishing off the last few remaining burgers at the end of the evening!
The event was the usual great success and the Association even made a slight profit.
